Travel Make Up – Eyes

I have a massive love/hate relationship with eye makeup, purely because for me, it is so much harder to find a good product in this category that does what I want it to do. I would be lying if I said I loved an elaborate eye look if I’m honest, I prioritize my base way more than eyes but having said that, I do have my go to looks that I latch onto, I wish I had the time to experiment more but every time I do, I look a mess so I can’t lie, I steer clear usually but these are the products that are coming with me to Salou.

  • Urban Decay Through The Looking Glass Palette
  • Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl
  • Urban Decay Sin Eye Primer
  • Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette
  • Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
  • NYX Tinted Brow Mascara
  • Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner in Sepia Ink & Black Ink
  • Illamasqua Precision Ink Eyeliner
  • NYX Wonder Pencil
  • Morphe 35F Palette

Now, obviously I needed brow products so as a quick routine I usually use my NYX Brow Mascara to tame them and make them look more full but if I decide to do a full face I will use the two brown shades in the Naked Basics Palette to fill in my brows with an angled liner brush because I find that these two shades work so much better than any other brow palette I have tried for my skin tone, everything else tends to look too warm which ends up making me look like a crazy lady.

The eyeshadow palettes I have listed are pretty much my go-to palettes for day to night kind of looks( you know, not too ‘what the fuck’ in the day but not too ‘are you wearing make up’ at night). I am particularly loving using oranges and reds on my lids at the moment to make the blue in my eyes stand out so the Morphe palette is great for this because of the peachy and red/brown shades, if I want a bolder look I use the orange shades from the Through the Looking Glass palette to make them pop a little more. Otherwise I’ll revert to the standard neutral colour, darker in the crease and a shimmer in the corner of the eye, you know how it goes. On to eyeliner, I love eyeliner but I know I will want something softer for daytime so the Bobbi Brown Liner is perfect for this because it has such soft edges and blends beautifully if needed, it just doesn’t have the sharp edges like the Illamasqua Liquid Liner (which by the way is fucking INSANE for a wing, bloody insane) so I’ll leave that one for night time looks I think.

I feel like Sin by Urban Decay just needs a paragraph of its own because this magic potion makes my eyeshadow stay on forever and a day, in the heat I will need something to stop my eye makeup sliding off my face, even if it is just a simple daytime look so this is a must have. I would say out of all of the products, this and my Dior mascara are holy grail, I cannot travel without them because these two alone can create an eye look to change your life, Sin is shimmery so can be worn on its own (which I have received several compliments for, yay for lazy make up) and the Dior mascara is just, well I can’t find anything better, it’s blacker than black and creates so much volume and length I am sure it is witchcraft in a mascara wand.

What eye make up product do you absolutely have to travel with and why ?

P.S tomorrow is lips and that’s an excessive one even if I do say so myself, if you missed yesterdays post on base products click here.
