Festive Make Up Staples

So, when I started drafting this post I thought of normal Christmas make up, not the crazy look that people are doing at the moment because I am nowhere near skilled enough for that and I have nowhere near enough patience, when I was thinking of three products that fit easily into a Christmas theme three products popped into my mind straight away.

The first product is a base product which is Kat Von D Lock It Foundation, to me every look needs a flawless base but to stay flawless all day takes a bit more oomph than some products have especially on Christmas day when the heating is on, the dinner is cooking and your likely t have it on your face all day for family photos. This foundation gets very mixed reviews but I adore it. Honestly, it is such high coverage it is more like Photoshop in a bottle. It is very longwearing and leaves a beautiful finish, I don’t find it drying at all but if I wear it every day I do start to break out so this is my special occasion foundation. If you don’t like high coverage then this is definitely not a product for you as it is very heavy but does blend extremely well and doesn’t look too heavy or cakey but you can feel it on your face unlike some other high end foundations. I always use this with the Kat Von D Lock It Primer and Concealer so I can’t vouch for what it’s like without these but it was definitely an investment.

The second product I have written a post on before but I am only going to talk about one shade, the ultimate gold ‘Half Baked’ in the Urban Decay Naked Palette. This shade is so buttery and pigmented for a glittery gold with next to no fall out and leaves your lids lit up like fairy lights, what more could you want? Now I know that it would be irrational to buy a palette for one colour but 95% of the colours in this palette are amazing and also if it’s a palette that you have hiding somewhere then dig that baby out.

Finally, a product that I am yet to hear about via a blog, the Ciate London Liquid Velvet Lipstick in the shade Fast Lane, this liquid lipstick is insane. The pigmentation is beautiful considering how light it feels when you are wearing it and I can even kiss my boyfriend when I am wearing out without making him look like he has just stepped out of a brothel. I received this in my Pink Parcel recently and I can’t get enough of it. I can drink with it on without worrying and it only starts to come off when you eat oily foods. I have a MAC Liquid Lipstick in Feel So Grande but it just isn’t a patch on this one. I really have found a new favourite and I can’t stop popping it in my pocket as it is the perfect Christmassy red for weekends out shopping.
