Fitbit Review

I am lazy, sloth level lazy I have said it a million times and I will say it again, I just cannot be bothered but I am also rather competitive so a couple of months ago, I bought a Fitbit. Well, two, I bought one for me and one for my boyfriend so that I would have the motivation to move because I would want to beat him. I looked into different fitness trackers and went with Fitbit because of the look, I eventually chose an Fitbit Alta because it was small, sleek and affordable.

I adored my Alta and used it all of the time. They take minimal amount of time to charge, I think mine took about 2 hours to charge and stayed on for 5 ish days depending on usage. I liked it up to my phone so I rarely used the actual device to view my steps, just my phone. I did find that staying on the app for a while drains your battery slightly but probably less than social media does. The app itself you can check to track your sleep, look at your previous data, have competitions, track water intake, track food intake and look at the hours you were active. You can customize the face of your tracker and the information it gives when you tap through which I love because it means you can look at exactly what you want and you don’t have to tap through irrelevant information. The strap that comes with it is rubbery but well made and sturdy which is great for exercise (not that I would know).

The magic of a fitness tracker is that you can see exactly how lazy you are and it does motivate you to get up and do more. I work in an office sitting down all day so I was doing barely anything movement wise and stuffing my face. I swear the Alta honestly changed my outlook (whilst I am wearing it that is, when I’m not I feel like its cheat day and I can be as lazy as possible because no one can prove it), I lost 5 pounds in the first week of wearing it.

Now onto the less normal stuff, I lost my Fitbit. After looking everywhere I just cannot locate it so I contacted Fitbit to see if they could track it and to my surprise the lovely woman emailing me back arranged for me to have a new one sent out which should be here shortly. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to choose Fitbit and in particular an Alta. Great customer service and a great product which motivates me to get off my fat arse and move. I am in love.
